Lessons, Warnings, & Hope.

Coinciding with the first solar eclipse of this year, the Chinese "Year of the Horse" begins on February 17th, 2026. As a fire horse, it promises a lot of intense power and rapid momentum. While it can bring forth a great sense of purpose, motivation, and positive change. it does not promise an easy journey ahead (see the history below). The intensity of this fire can suggest we are in for a crazy ride... probably without a saddle, but if we can learn to put the reins on this horse, harness its potential, stay focused on where we are trying to go, it is very possible this horse can take us to new, maybe unexpected and amazing heights.

There will be many many changes in our world this year. We will continue to have environmental and climate changes, leadership changes, changes with how we look at and relate to people in power, and changes in our personal lives... which brings us to the topic of personal agency, freedom, self-leadership, or remaining under the control of others.

There will be a push/pull between individual/personal rights and freedoms versus the rights or demands of the system, society, and each other.

So, without beating this dead horse (pun intended) lets journey through the deeper symbolic messages and intuitive associations that can be made to it.

Unbridled: The Fire🔥

Represented by the Horse and numerologically associated with number One, this year storms out of the gate with a supercharged masculine, yang energy that is raring to go.

When we add to this the cardinal fire of Aries that is being strongly activated by the ingress of Neptune and Saturn into that sign, this intensifies this masculine fire energy tremendously. Additionally, we have the added energy of the Solar Eclipse, which is credited as activating the Fire Horse. Although the eclipse is officially in the sign of Aquarius (an air sign), by nature of the zodiacal axis, we could also see themes from Leo (a fire sign) emerge. As if that wasn't enough, we symbolically add more fuel to this already raging fire because the eclipse is sometimes referred to as having a "Ring of Fire."

Holy. Shit.

The fire of 2026 is so incredibly amplified that it can go from sparks to wildfire without warning, so don't blink. A healthy, contained expression of fire can bring forth many beautiful results and transformations, but uncontrolled fire can cause complete chaos and destruction before it regenerates to the beauty of new life.

Fire is a tool for creation, survival, purification, and transformation, but it can also become a weapon of complete destruction. In 2026, it has potential to be used for both.

As individuals, we will encounter themes of personal transformation including changes with our identity as well as who and what we identify with... the way we think or feel, the way we move and operate in the world, how we spend time including daily habits like exercise, spiritual or creative practices, passions. We will give consideration to the energy we pour into relationships, connections, careers, and goals. There might be reconsideration or changes with where we live, what communities we align with, and what causes we support.

Unbridled: The Knight of Wands

The term "fire horse" immediately brought my intuitive senses to the Knight of Wands which feels like the Tarot twin of this energy. Knights are transient and they can be a bit of a wild card because they are on the move. Like the mutable signs of Astrology, they represent a stage of change and transformation. Knights travel and they tend to lead us into new frontiers.

Knight of wands in astrology is represented by Mars in Sagittarius. This is very exciting but very intense energy. I will circle back around to it, but it suggests 2026 will require us to adapt to change, to have direction but also be prepared to make adjustments as needed, and to be fearless as we ride into a "Brave New World."

Playing with keywords associated with the Knight of Wands, these are some themes represented by him in 2026 (for better or worse).

Unbridled: Crazy Horse 🐎

As I sat with the energy of the Knight of Wands, my guides brought my awareness to a historical figure I have a personal affinity and connection to: Lakota Warrior, Crazy Horse. Tapping into the energy of Crazy Horse, I found myself completely submerged and rode with it (I was on his horse). We traveled through a beautiful field and directly into a scene from the movie "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson. I think this is a very strong impression of the potential real-world themes, behavior, and situations we might be encountering this year and for some time to come.

For those who are poor historians, Crazy Horse was a brave Lakota leader who was remembered for his fierce commitment to protecting his people, their land, and way of life as the United States government broke their treaty promises to the Natives (shocker) and then confiscated land, territories, and resources through extremely harsh measures including violence, war, and killing thousands if not millions of buffalo,.. their main food supply (starvation). *Let us remember that history always repeats.

The movie The Patriot, a movie from 2000, was set during in the American Revolution. With a very powerful storyline (worth watching if you have never seen it) is set during the American Revolution... a war to break away from the oppressive British rule that implemented control through unfair laws and ongoing taxation.

So, what is the connection? This suggests governments (including our own) are going to try to take more control through drastic measures, but eventually the people are going to try to take it back. It definitely alludes to a time of instability, unpredictability, issues with resources/ownership/rights, and conflict. A likely revolution will emerge from the chaos, disorganized at first, but as commoners slowly wake up to the divisive tactics and manipulation that is and has been occurring from all of sides and all levels of government and authority more questions will get asked and a resistance will build toward their oppression: rules, taxes, technological advances, restrictions, and limitations that are not just government overreach, but a nefarious agenda that is unfolding by billionaire technocrats. Unfortunately, the resistance might first begin against each other until enough truth surfaces for the average person to figure out they have been manipulated by the people they trusted to lead and the overlords pulling their strings.

Now let's go back to Mars... in Sagittarius.

The Fire Horse, Knight of Wands, and Mars in Sagittarius tell us that things on the geopolitical front are going to ramp up quite a bit. We will see rapid fire changes and events that impact laws, court cases, regulations, technology, accountability, military operations, authority, leadership, and unfortunately violence.

Overall stability may be elusive, because the shadow side of this energy is a raging fire with its destruction including explosions. However, although we have concerns of fire, we may actually experience a problem with the element of water as well because when conditions are too hot, we find a lack of supply, meaning drought, or an excess such as hurricanes, floods, and tsunamis.

And since we have an opposing square to Uranus at the final degrees of Taurus at the time of this eclipse, this could hint at a shake up in the markets, drastic earth changes and other natural disasters such as volcanos and earthquakes. We should take note of Russia, Ireland, Italy, and Poland as they are under the influence of Taurus, but also have history related to these cycles.

"Ring of Fire" is a descriptive term used for a Solar Eclipse. For me, this triggered a consideration for the geographical Ring of Fire that is known for being a hotspot for natural disaster activity including earthquakes and Tsunamis. I think we should pay attention to this part of the map as well. (This can include Antarctica, Mexico, US West Coast, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia)

This combination also offers the potential for extreme violence, attacks, military action, war, and potential nuclear threats (see history charts below). Other themes could involve missiles, space exploration or discoveries, issues with long distance travel, airplane issues/catastrophes, and international border themes.

Another area worth exploring with Mars and Sagittarius is that this combination wants to powerfully expand in big ways. When talking geopolitically, this could warn us that the talking head of our country and the talking heads at the global level intend to intensify a rapid expansion of their reach. We could be referring to perceived power and authority, but also an expansion of borders through land acquisitions. This power (and land) grab might amplify in 2026, however there is a silver lining here, because to the other side of this intense struggle for power, in a complete paradox, if one gets too big for their britches he or she usually loses control. Once overextended, control becomes much harder to maintain. This applies to any aspect of life from individual people, businesses, governments, corporations, and even global leadership initiatives (wink wink). 🤣

This energy can bring themes of justice, so we may see events that are designed to rally people for causes that don't truly bring about any real and lasting change, rather influence those who are easily programmed into behaviors or actions that lead to predetermined outcomes (reforms, regulations, restrictions) the overlord's planned for (Hegelian Dialectic). So, before getting emotionally activated by the next news media broadcast or before deciding to rally behind the next media induced cause, we need to make sure we pause and ask ourselves if this is an effective use of our energy, what is the intended end result or goal, what exactly will be gained, and is there somewhere else my attention should be.

Hint: you might be better to use that fire energy to create change in a more individualized or local level. Plant your garden, start your business, help support your local community, volunteer to help the less fortunate. Be the change you want to see in the world, and above all else, recognize where freedom is becoming promoted or restricted, because a big theme with the horse, with the Knight of Wands, Aquarius and Sagittarius is personal and societal freedom.

Another big theme that sticks out to me with this energy: bullets, missiles, hunting, guns. I do feel we will be seeing more episodes of media reporting gun violence and violence in general which will prompt increased reforms and regulations on gun control. (This is not an invite to debate if reform needs to happen or not, but I am inviting you to ask the questions. Is what you see on social media and tv real or could it possibly be an attempt at triggering a desired emotional response as we mentioned previously? AI has advanced tremendously in the short time it has been with us, and we would be fools not to question if the powers that be did not have AI perfected years ago while also using it to move agendas without our awareness prior to its public introduction).

Not to repeat myself, but holy shit. So now that we have the ugly parts of the Fire Horse out of the way, let's make sense of all of this. Although it can be hard to experience such darkness in our world, it unfortunately is necessary for us to move forward. Humans generally do not change unless they are forced into it. It is time we wake up and realign our moral compass, remember what is important and sacred, and get back in touch with our hearts (Leo-Aquarius axis). We must allow the old order to fall and not try to hold on to it. It has long past expired and has proved to be grossly ineffective, unethical, unjust, and as we have recently learned, evil and inhumane. With that said, we must walk a careful line going forward because new doesn't always promise better.

What takes shape will be determined on how willing we are to come together... or fall apart.

This is not necessarily a time when we come to agreement on every single issue we are facing, however, I think we can agree on one thing... it's time we hit pause, sift through the rubble, and ask: "where the fuck is humanity going?"

How did we get here, how did we ever allow it to get here, how to do we course correct, and what might our personal roles be in all of this? What can we do to show up as the highest version of the Knight of Wands? These are the questions we should be asking.

Heath

The Aquarius axis tells us that the heart, nervous, and circulatory systems (blood), along with electromagnetic frequencies, might be some of the trending health concerns. Likewise, from the Leo, Mars, and Fire elements, issues with fever, inflammation, dehydration, and infection might become prevalent (note that cholera was prevalent in 1846). Additionally, we could find very unique health issues arising, but also innovative solutions to combat them. Be discerning with medical treatments during this time. Because the nodes are in Pisces-Virgo, I don't think we should discount another large-scale outbreak of something.

Personal Lives

Despite our worldly challenges, personally, as we can harness this energy to open the door to opportunities that can move ourselves and humanity into new and positive directions.

Fire is the light; it is the sign of transformation and creation. This will be a time when many people metaphorically burn down the bridge to what was and start to rebuild themselves in some way... a rebirth. This could relate to one's identity, life purpose, career, relationships, and passions. We will see people "light" up and become inspired in arts, music, writing, and creative endeavors. We will see a rise of more effective leaders, and the creation of small businesses operating from a moral compass. Many people will become bolder and braver, speaking through action instead of passivity. This may be a time when people decide we only have this one life to live and start living it. Many will decide to move over the next year or more.

Conversely, for those who have not done the inner work and are stuck in the traps of the lower mind, we will see unbridled emotions like anger, ruthlessness, recklessness, selfishness, greed, violent acts, mental health disorders, and becoming unhinged in the face of adversity. This could create groups of extremists that could be very disruptive.

Where is the Hope?

If you recall, I expressed earlier that there are always two sides to an energetic signature. ALWAYS. It is the law of this reality because everything exists in polarity. In every challenge, there exists the possibility for growth and renewal. The same fire that threatens to consume and destroy can also light the path forward… revealing new ways that are transformative, inspirational, and more aligned with our heart and soul.

This is our chance to rekindle our inner flame for life... to find courage, bravery, strength, and become a more self-aware, self-empowered, and self-actualized version of ourselves. This is prioritizing self while caring for others, while discovering our own individual gifts and light to share with the world.

We will find ways to come together in the ashes of where we fell apart. The biggest choice we face right now is how to use the light within to take steps toward our personal transformations so we can use it to transform the world.
